La Herradura is the neighborhood in the western part of the city that is the closest to the northern part of the metropolitan area. Located in the municipality of Huixquilucan, this area began to develop in the early ninety seventies following the success of the Tecamachalco neighborhood.

The colonia Herradura began its development next to the exclusive Club de Golf Chapultepec and towards the upper end of the woods where Interlomas is now located and it borders entirely with Tecamachalco.

Today, La Herradura is an upper-class residential area where the houses are lined along its wide and wooded streets giving the neighborhood a suburban feel which their residents can enjoy on a day-to-day basis.

La Herradura is a quiet and safe residential neighborhood where its residents can indulge in nice strolls and engage in many other activities in its parks and green areas.

It is also common to find people jogging or riding their bicycles along the long and steep roads.

Something important to consider is the neighborhood´s easy connectivity to other areas of the city, as it has direct access to Tecamachalco and Interlomas in the northern part and another access to the Periférico beltway in the southern part where vehicles can swiftly reach other neighborhoods like Polanco, Lomas, or Condesa.

To live in La Herradura is to let yourself get carried away by the rhythm of a suburban lifestyle, permeating all residents with a sense of tranquility. Moving around the area is simple as it is a neighborhood that is not heavily transited and its streets are wide. You will also find high standard services such as top-level supermarkets, prestigious schools, and retail businesses with quality products.

Visit shopping centers. Being an area that is focused on residential housing, there are no large shopping malls in the neighborhood; therefore, if you´re looking to shop at a local retail center, you would have to go to other nearby areas such as Interlomas or Santa Fe.

The residential market is composed mostly of medium or large-sized single homes or in gated communities (almost all of them with private yards), ideal for families of five or more members. Given that this area was developed several years ago, you will find properties that date back to this time, but also some of recent construction or others that have been made over.

Parque de La Herradura. This park is located in the central part of the neighborhood and is easily accessible to all its residents. Here you can do exercise, walk your pets, or even visit local bazaars that are set up by the neighbors themselves.
