Jalisco - Providencia
Providencia is one of the areas with the most distinguished ancestry of the city of Guadalajara and probably of all the Bajío region.
Located in the northwestern part of the Guadalajara municipality and adjacent to the neighboring borough of Zapopan, this area dates back to the early Hacienda La Providencia, which during the XIX century had more than 500 hectares of land and its main Manor House stood in present day Providencia and Rubén Darío avenues.
Today, Providencia has become the financial hub of the Bajio region, with a leading corridor of office buildings located on the Américas and Adolfo López Mateos Norte avenues, in addition to housing upscale shopping centers, hotels, and restaurants.
What to expect…
The distinguished beauty of the city of Guadalajara is certainly owed to areas like Providencia. Its wide tree-lined avenues and broad medians welcome its visitors and proudly lead them through its numerous parks, restaurants, shopping malls, large corporate buildings and all the way down to its beautiful residential streets riddled with flowers that are typical of this area.
Lifestyle
Providencia is probably the most predominant neighborhood in the Guadalajara metropolitan area because of its urban planning and development and also because of its proximity to other important areas of the city such as Country Club, Colomos, Puerta de Hierro and La Americana.
It is a neighborhood that wonderfully blends its residential side with the upsurge of corporate and retail activity. Among its residents you will find families and businessmen who work in this area.
It’s not the right place to…
People looking for a peaceful place to live. The combination of office buildings, hotels, shopping centers, restaurants, and bars make Providencia one of the most “popular places to be” of the city.
Residential market
The residential market is composed mainly of single homes that were built since the neighborhood first started to develop and up until today, therefore you will find houses from the nineteen sixties or by contrast, others of more recent construction. One option that is worth exploring is purchasing an older property and remodeling it to your liking.

Its culinary selection. Whether it’s in Punto Sao Paulo, Midtown Jalisco or one of the neighboring streets, Providencia is always at the forefront in terms of fine cooking and unbeatable service.
