San Ángel neighborhood is located south of CDMX in the Álvaro Obregón mayor's office and is considered by many to be the most exclusive area in the southern part of the city. This area began as a rural area for the upper classes in the 18th and 19th centuries to transform, today, into a high-end residential area with beautiful cobblestone streets and colonial houses that take you back to the past; to the Mexico of the haciendas, the plazas and the religiosity.
We leave you three reasons why we believe that San Ángel is the most exclusive area in the south of CDMX:
Lifestyle
Living in San Ángel is comfortable and extremely pleasant. It is a safe area so you can walk without worries through its historic streets to enjoy different cultural activities as well as world-class restaurants and shops. It is a neighborhood with a calm and provincial air where life passes in a very pleasant way. San Ángel is an extremely versatile place where, on the one hand, you can visit its exclusive restaurants and shops, and on the other, go for a walk through its cobblestone streets, squares and churches. We cannot fail to mention its proximity to shopping centers such as Pabellón Altavista and Portal San Ángel.
Real Estate Market
The real estate offer is based mostly on large houses with gardens in which the Mexican colonial style predominates, using materials such as wood, stone and brick. The flowers that dress the residences are a very characteristic element of the area, giving it a very elegant country air.
Gastronomy and culture
Something that stands out in an important way about San Ángel is how rich it is in culture and gastronomy. On the cultural side, this area is full of nooks and crannies with a lot of history that range from important Catholic temples such as San Jacinto and Tlacopac, to places dedicated to the conservation of its historical identity such as the San Ángel Cultural Center, the Museo del Carmen or the Museum home-studio of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo. On the gastronomic side, we cannot fail to mention an emblematic restaurant such as the San Angel Inn, which was built in an old hacienda with beautiful gardens and rooms. For something more casual there is the Saturday Bazaar which is an experience for buying crafts and tasting Mexican snacks.
