Ciudad de México - Polanco
The Polanco area is integrated by Polanco Chapultepec and Polanco Reforma. It is situated in the north-wester part of Mexico City, in the Miguel Hidalgo borough. Polanco is one of the most traditional and cosmopolitan neighborhoods of the city and maybe even of the entire country. Since its beginnings, it was planned as a residential and commercial area, harnessing the properties adjacent to the Hacienda de San Juan de los Morales, which today remains as an iconic restaurant in the area.
Today, to live in Polanco means to live in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the city. It’s enough to just browse around its many streets named after great philosophers and humanists in order to revel in amazing green landscapes, museums, upscale restaurants, the best hotels in the city, exclusive shops and the harmonious diversity of its homes that range from large Californian colonial-style residences to more modern building with spacious apartments.
What to expect…
It is an area that interestingly blends glamorous boutiques and luxury restaurants with the serenity of its streets and parks. We should also highlight the fact that Polanco has easy and fast access to several important avenues that connect the neighborhood with different parts of the city.
Lifestyle
Polanco combines the peace and quiet of its residential streets with the bustling glamor of its fashionable shops and popular restaurants. It is common to find many tourists wandering around, as Polanco is home to some of the best and most exclusive hotels in the city because of all the cultural activities it offers.
You can find people from all walks of life that have made Polanco their home: foreigners, expats, newlyweds, singles, and retired couples.
It’s not the right place to…
Move around by car. Traffic is hectic at almost any time of the day and it can take several minutes just to go from one place in the neighborhood to another. If you don’t have to leave the area, your best option is to walk or if you’re in a hurry you might want to use one of the many electric scooters around.
Residential market
The residential market in this area includes mostly medium-size luxury apartments designed by renowned architects, ideal for singles or couples. Also available but to a lesser extent are larger homes that have been renovated but keep the original Californian colonial-style of the facade.
