The San Ángel neighborhood is possibly the most exclusive residential area in the southern part of Mexico City. It is located in the Álvaro Obregón borough and began as a rural strolling area for the upper class in the XVIII and XIX centuries.
Today it is an ancestral residential area with beautiful cobble stone pavements and colonial homes covered in flowers, which will take you on a journey back to the time of big “Haciendas”, town squares and a rooted religious culture.
Although Sán Ángel is not close to the most traditional tourist areas of the city, it has become a reference point for foreigners and visitors because of its beauty, its culture, and its cuisine.

Night life. Although there are outstanding restaurants in San Ángel, most of them close early, as being a residential area, the neighbors value and protect the quietness of its surroundings.

The residential market is based mostly on large individual homes with extensive backyards. Its architecture is dominated by a Mexican colonial style that uses materials such as wood, stone, and brick. The many flowers that cover the residences are a very characteristic element of the area, exhibiting a highly elegant country-like ambience.
